Hot Tubs And Pregnancy
Hot Tubs And Pregnancy Don’t Mix
There are many studies that exist today relating towards
hot tubs and pregnancy. If you are bathing in hot tubs while pregnant,
you may be taking an enormous risk. The many studies that are out there show
that it is true that many women who bathe in a hot tub while they are
pregnant suffer from a miscarriage. There is no evidence as to what exactly
causes this miscarriage but unfortunately it may be related to hottubs.
During the first 10 weeks of your pregnancy you are twice as likely to
suffer from a miscarriage if you go bathing in a hot tub. These statistics
are high enough that no one should take this risk.
Also the high temperatures of a hottub bath will naturally increase body
temperature, pregnant or not. There has been evidence that this high body
temperature will result in a fever and can possibly even cause birth defects
in some circumstances.
With the studies and results available, it’s clear that a pregnant woman
should avoid taking the risk of bathing in hottubs except with medical
advice and supervision. The studies have been ongoing for many years now,
but none have yet come up with enough evidence of exact risks to show women
what can happen to their babies. Portable
hot tubs and home spas are wonderfully relaxing and fun, but the fun you
have is not worth the risk to your unborn baby. With the many natural
problems that can occur with any pregnancy, you do not want to encourage any
other problems.
Please take into consideration the risks that you may be taking if you
choose to bathe in a hot tub at any time during your pregnancy. There are of
course key months of increased risks, but it’s best to avoid hot tubs during
your entire pregnancy to avoid any unnecessary risk when it comes to bathing
and relaxing. Be safe and don’t take the risk.
