Replacement parts for your portable home spa can usually be found from the
same site where you purchased your hot tub, so check these sites first. If
you have an older model and they no longer carry that exact model, the site
can point you in the direction of an appropriate replacement.
Pumps and Motors
Fortunately, most parts for spas and hot tubs, especially items like pumps
and motors, have a model and serial number on them somewhere. This can save
you a lot of time in finding the right replacement parts. Check for these
numbers and the name of the pump manufacturer and, if there is one, the
model name, on the casing of the pump or motor; you can then do an Internet
search to find either the same part or an equivalent that will work as well.
Check the Warranty
Most importantly, check into your home spa’s components (are they plastic or
metal?), what kind of guarantee they carry, and if the warranty on the parts
covers only certain parts or the entire device. Don’t purchase replacement
parts that are refurbished unless you have to – the cost savings generally
isn’t that great, and you’ll want the longer warranty of a brand new part
for your hot tub so that you don’t have to go through the search for
replacement parts again any time soon.
