How Hot Tub Manufacturers Sell Their Products
There are literally hundreds of hot tub manufacturers
producing hot tubs today and the array of choices can be quite confusing.
Some manufacturers are relatively new to the industry, while others have
been producing spas for several decades. Most sell their products wholesale
to affiliated retailers so that you can see, feel, and try a tub before
buying, and also be assured of quality service after the sale. Thanks to
advances in manufacturing processes that have come about in the past few
years, more hot tubs than ever are being manufactured and marketed to
consumers of all income levels.
It used to be that wholesale hot tubs were only made available to affiliated
dealers and retailers because this arrangement was the most effective way
for a manufacturer to get their hot tubs to the consumer. With the growth of
the internet, though, many new manufacturers have entered the market and are
selling directly to the consumer instead. These companies will often
advertise they can sell you a portable home
spa or hot tub at a wholesale price, but that is somewhat misleading
because they are not a true wholesaler. They don’t have retail or dealer
affiliates, so while the prices they set are lower than what you might find
at a local store it is not a true wholesale price.
Some manufacturers deliberately do not sell their hot tubs online because
they know that once the tub leaves their facility the consumer is
essentially on their own and any problems they have will, rightly or
wrongly, be blamed on the manufacturer. They know that by selling wholesale
to an affiliated dealer and working closely with that dealer to market spas
to consumers, they can better ensure that the consumer is satisfied with the
product and preserve their positive reputation.
